We are a small outfit here in Charleston, South Carolina, and we hope in some way that viewing our items and visiting our site will promote fossil hunting. We have taken many of our customers out to collect fossils and have made many friends along the way. We have also taken time out to take many groups on their first fossil journey to land sites and we are proud of that fact. These groups include college students,the Boy Scouts, Grade School classes, USGS, and so on. We have even donated fossils of scientific relevance to musuems. Unfortunately, because of all the hazards involved, we cannot take anyone out on a dive trip. If you still want to dive please hire a professional, it is well worth the money. I was fortunate enough to have a legend in the river diving world teach me and for that I am forever grateful.

There are also many laws governing the recovery of fossils and artifacts and they vary from state to state so make sure to have the proper permits. If there is a local fossil organization in your area we encourage you to join. They can help identify fossils and help point you in the right direction. Also look into volunteer work at the local museums. I spent over 300 hours helping out the state museum excavate fossils at the famous "Camelot" site. Although all of are sales are important to us, we try to help out in any way we can. If you have any questions feel free to email us and we will try to answer any of your questions. We do most of our land hunting between the months of October and February.

Fossilbyte has grown much from collecting sharks teeth over 26 years ago, and we want to assure you that every purchase and question is important to us. We get requests from small kids doing a paper all the way to supplying some of the most rarest specimans in the world to museums.  By far we have the best quality fossil polished whale teeth in the industry.  We can even supply you with any special scrimshaw requests.
